The Earth is an omnipresent source of natural healing energy. Many people describe a sense of well-being when they walk barefoot on the Earth. Earthing restores and maintains the human body’s most natural electrical state, which in turn allows optimum health and functionality in daily life. The natural energy emanating from the Earth is the ultimate anti-inflammatory.

We live on a planet that is alive and has natural energies. The surface of the Earth teems with subtle, pulsating frequencies, and this process is unknown to most people. The natural frequencies of the Earth are waves of energy caused by the motions of subatomic particles called free electrons. Our bodies, especially when inflamed and stressed, have net positive charges, and placing our bare feet on the Earth remedies an electrical instability and electron deficiency. When Earthing, the body immediately equalizes to the same electric energy level, or potential, as the Earth. Unfortunately, we spend all too much time wearing materials on our feet that insulate against this transfer of electrons, such as rubber, plastic, and other synthetic materials. Years ago, unlike the current day, most of our shoes had leather bottoms, and leather is a fairly good conductor of electrons; could this be one contributing factor to people feeling less well these days compared to days gone by? Proponents of Earthing believe so.

When one connects to the Earth, either with bare feet, via specially made Earthing shoes, or via connection to a conductive device that delivers the natural healing energy of the Earth into the body, one can sometimes feel a warm, tingling sensation and often feelings of ease and well-being. Often times one feels better quickly, but the degree of improvement varies from person to person. Use caution placing bare feet on the ground, avoiding anything sharp or dangerous, and note that Earthing is effective on soil, grass, and sand, but not on concrete or asphalt, as these are man-made surfaces.

Observations and research indicate many benefits from Earthing, including the following: Earthing improves or eliminates symptoms of many inflammation-related disorders; reduces or eliminates chronic pain; often improves sleep; can increase energy; can lower stress and promote a state of calm by downregulating the sympathetic nervous system and stress hormones; can normalize the body’s biological rhythm; can thin the blood and improve blood flow; can improve blood pressure; relieves muscle tension and headaches; lessens hormonal and menstrual symptoms; speeds wound healing and helps to prevent bedsores; reduces or eliminates jet lag; protects the body against potentially health-disturbing environmental electromagnetic fields (EMFs), and can accelerate recovery from intense athletic activity.

The important thing is to make Earthing a long-term commitment to one’s daily routine, and to do it as much as possible, so as to gain maximum benefits. When Earthing is stopped, symptoms tend to slowly return, so making Earthing a priority and practicing it regularly is ideal to optimize health.
